 | | •Northern Italian Nation States•
Most people are unaware that the unified nation of Italy did not exist until the 1860s. Prior to that time. the Italian peninsula was made of smaller Kingdoms, Duchys, and Principlaities. These included the Kingdom of Lombardy and Venice, Parma, Modena, Tuscany, and the region ruled by the Pope, the State of the Church (which included Rome) . These nation states were either forcefully taken into or joined the greater state of Italy by 1861.
This stunning hand-painted map was map by S.A. Mitchell and features a green border. The map shows the counties, cities, towns, geographic features and roads of the time. It is a rare look back at Nothern Italy before the creation if a single Italian nation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unframed pieces are printed on 100% rag, fine art paper. Framed pieces are printed on canvas.
All sizes are approximate. Because they are taken from authentic antiques, very few pieces are exact "standard sizes" and will, generally, require custom framing (which we offer at very reasonable prices - see below).
Due to the INCREDIBLY high shipping prices charged for OVERSIZE shipping, shipping charges may be higher than quoted for items that measure more than a total of 70" (matted height + width). For example a matted piece measuring 32" x 40" would be considered OVERSIZE (72"). For complete delivery information, see Information page.
PastView™ Gallery antique map, print, & photo replicas are scanned or photographed at the highest resolution on fine-art reproduction equipment. Meticulously color matched and digitally restored (if needed), we print each piece on state-of-the-art, 8-color, fine-art, giclee printers using the latest, long-life, archival inks. We use the finest quality, mould-made, fine art, 100% rag paper.

Our old map, print, or photograph reproductions are works of art, at the most affordable prices possible. Each is comparable to (or better than) similar pieces that sell for far more. In fact, most of the cheaper antique replicas you will find are printed on cheap paper, with less attention to detail and quality. We are so confident that you will be thrilled with your purchase that we guarantee your complete satisfaction for a full 30 days (see Our Guarantee for details).
